Coastal Gallery Lymington has introduced a carefully selected collection of contemporary crafts made by leading artists and designers.

Currently in stock are delightful fish and bird boxes by Nicola Henshaw, one of the UK’s most exciting sculptors based in Brockenhurst; quirky driftwood boats and houses by RCA graduate, Victor Stuart Graham; and stunning mosaics by London-based ceramicist and textile designer, Jo Veevers.

Each of these artworks makes a very special gift, and Bev and Stewart are delighted to work with customers to create bespoke Wedding Lists from the crafts selection.

Prices range from £30 for a driftwood boat to £200 for a Jo Veevers mosaic or £1400 for a unique Nicola Henshaw bird box.

Nicola Henshaw

Nicola is a sculptor making functional and decorative art for interiors and the outdoors. Her work is an intriguing and magical combination of the real and the imagined, with inspiration drawn from storytelling and traditional narrative forms. Each unique piece evokes a powerful sense of place through choice of subject matter and material, the latter including locally sourced timber, metalwork and, most recently, coloured resin.

Nicola works from a delightful studio in her New Forest garden and has exhibited nationally and internationally. She has work in collections throughout the UK, Japan, India and the USA. Coastal Gallery is delighted to stock a selection of Nicola’s work. Please contact us re prices and availability.

Victor Stuart Graham

Victor lives by the sea and loves boats. He originally trained as a graphic designer, followed by an MA in Textile Design at the Royal College of Art in London.

Victor’s career has been hugely varied, from teaching textile design to painting seaside railings! Whist looking for suitable wood to frame some textile designs, Victor found pieces of driftwood ‘crying out for their inner boat to be released’ and he has never looked back. Using worn driftwood, Victor creates trawlers, yachts and pleasure boats in all shapes and sizes. Painted in subtle blues, greys, reds and ochre, many have colourful bespoke bunting!

Victor’s work is exhibited throughout the UK and Coastal Gallery is delighted to feature a flotilla of beautiful driftwood boats. Please contact us for prices and availability.

Joanna Veevers

Jo’s first degree was in Printed Textiles, followed by an MA in Ceramics at the Royal College of Art in London.

Whilst there, Jo applied her distinct drawing and design style to ceramics, in particular, porcelain. Using a unique process of drawing with layers of coloured slip prior to casting and firing, Jo creates magical ceramic pieces with extraordinary detail. The scale of her work ranges from buttons, brooches, earrings and tiles to large-scale tiled panels and mosaics for public spaces.

Fascinated by found and natural objects and by narrative, Jo weaves magical imagery and stories into her meticulous work. Her pieces are in collections throughout the world, and her public commissions can be seen in retail centres, schools and hospitals in the UK.

Coastal Gallery is delighted to stock a collection of Jo’s jewellery and small mosaics.

Prices range from £30 for a small brooch to £200 for a wall mosaic.
