Duggie Fields's dayglo post-pop paintings are instantly recognizable. Despite his concern with the identity-dissolving impact of mass media on the contemporary psyche, Fields manages to sustain a coherent signature style that is as flamboyantly dysfunctional as it is cool and simple. Applying overdriven colour and stripped down cartoon-ish drawing to produce mutant variations on classical poses and genres, Fields' work scrambles categories, freaked out and flatline, delirious and deadpan all at once. Coastal Gallery is proud to exhibit a series of limited edition prints by Duggie which are guaranteed to bring a vibrant pop of colour and character to your home ! ... See MoreSee Less

Julie studied Fine Art painting at the University of Reading 1980-84 where she was taught by Mali Morris, Albert Irwin and Terry Frost. Influenced by the energy in their abstract expressionist work, Julie has used this feeling in her dream like landscapes where delicacy is combined with energy.

The work I make offers alternative views of reality, where subtle layers of paint and texture give a depth to each piece. Though a figure, bird or leaf may appear in a painting the deeper message of the beauty and frailty of life is paramount. Each piece is made as part of a series, working on heavy watercolour paper. As I paint with watercolour and acrylic, I push the boundaries of the medium. When I work there is a constant reference to nature and a desire to reach the heart of the matter.

I have been inspired and influenced by many artists, most notably the ancient frescoes that I have studied on my numerous travels to Italy and Greece, where fragments of images can be seen. I moved back to the sea in 2014 and feel at home here, where I resonate with the light, the ever changing skies and living on the edge. This has had a cathartic effect on my work as an artist.

The relationships between science and nature has become central to his work, creating private commissions for customers around the world, he has had numerous pieces placed on superyachts by award winning Mark Berryman Yacht Design. Andy has also produced work for the National Trust. Coastal Gallery is delighted to be exhibiting three of Andy's stunning sculptures including a Blue Ray and two sharks.

Sculptor Long Ly is originally from Saigon, Vietnam, before escaping the communists, aged 8, with his family on a rickety fishing boat. He was settled in England and has come to being an artist after being 'discovered' by Nick de Rothschild. His pieces are made from recycled metal, ranging from pots and pans to plumbing pipes and carpet dividers - his imagination shows no bounds. Coastal Gallery is delighted to showcase one of Long's incredible sculptures during December - THE SEAHORSE. Come and see this stunning piece !
