If you love all things coastal, Coastal Gallery at Palais des Vaches has a lovely selection of paintings inspired by the sea and coast. The collection includes some wonderfully evocative seascapes by Jennie Slater (you can almost feel the spray and taste the salt ), and semi-abstract canvases by Claire Wiltsher in which she captures the essence of the Hampshire and Dorset coastline. This wonderful new painting by Chris Whittaker has arrived at Palais des Vaches this morning. We are constantly amazed by Chris’s unique work - his eye for detail is second to none. The piece is entitled ‘Campeche’ and was inspired by an overgrown lost city in the Mexican jungle. But, as ever with Chris’s work, there’s a subtle twist with the foliage inspired by Chris’s delightfully quirky garden. The painting, oil on canvas, took five months to complete. In a former life in London, Chris was a creative director of a leading advertising agency - a man of many talents and one of our favourite artists.
