With the recent downpours and cloudy august we are busy preparing the gallery for the autumn / winter season. New arrivals last week include a large collection of paintings by renown New Forest artist Pete Gilbert – who captures the many mysteries of both unspoilt forest and The Lymington River through skilful use of pastels & watercolour to capture the immediacy of the moment. Then, using those sketches as a reference he will finish them off in the studio using oil or acrylic.
