LONDON EXHIBITIONS / TATE MODERN

* Sophie Taeuber-Arp, Tate Modern
A retrospective of an avant-garde leader of the abstract movement
As well as her era-defining turned-wood Dada Heads, her involvement in the Parisian<www.cntraveller.com/gallery/paris-hotels> art scene and her geometric compositions, Sophie Taeuber-Arp is most remarkable for taking her artistic expression on an experimental journey that travelled through textiles, marionettes, sculpture, collage, embroidery and interiors<www.cntraveller.com/gallery/golden-interiors-around-the-world>. Constantly – and often controversially – pushing the boundaries of art, design<www.cntraveller.com/gallery/green-interior-design> and craft, her multidisciplinary approach to these mediums meant she was also pushing her own boundaries. This posthumous exhibition explores that sense of being perpetually in development – unfinished, open-ended and leaving space for those that follow in her footsteps.
