Art for Interiors

Recent arrivals over the past week have included new work by Mike Turner, Claire Wiltsher, Stephen Powell and Julie Collins who has recently been awarded 1st prize for watercolour at the Royal West of England Academy Annual Exhibition [ open until November 27th if you wish to visit ]. Mike has crafted a beautiful Flying Fish mounted on an oak base which is now in our window & on sale for £2500 — a great investment piece for collectors of his work which has a well established international following.

Following the success of the Coastal Gallery exhibition at ArtSway during Hampshire Open Studio’s we have continued to attract new customers to our Lymington shop where a fresh selection of work has now arrived. These include some vibrant abstracts from Artist / Alchemist Biddy Hodgkinson together with a selection of the best pieces remaining from the ArtSway show. Artist Talks

Our daily artists talks take place at 11am – these have been really popular and well attended at ArtSway whilst the Coastal Gallery exhibition remains open until bank holiday monday, 31st August. If you miss any of the talks, you can catch up on our YouTube link via the www.coastal-galley.co.uk web site or view on Facebook where we have been sharing as soon as completing the edit. These will all serve as a really useful document of the exhibiting artists. Keep a look out for the updates and posts for who is talking – today we have Jason Miller at 11am.

Private View

What a wonderful evening ! Over 200 guest attended our Private View on friday at ArtSway to celebrate the Coastal Gallery / Hampshire Open Studio’s collaboration. Artists and collectors enjoyed champagne and artistic canapes provided by sharply dressed waiters and waitresses from Redherring Events – both beautifully presented. Sales were brisk and many collectors have also booked appointments to view artworks at their homes. Artist talks have taken place daily at 11am and visitors have never been short in supply. Come and enjoy at ArtSway until August 29th – Bank Holiday Monday.

Day Three / Set Up

We are so thrilled with all the artwork and sculptures that have arrived for our exhibition at ArtSway – already looking fabulous ! Final preparations are underway for the Private View on friday before opening on saturday 20th August to launch Hampshire Open Studios. Today we have jewellery arriving from Jo Vane and more ceramics by Jackie Giron.

Trina Hart has been working away on producing a series of short video clips where we talk about the exhibition plans for Coastal Gallery at ArtSway during Hampshire Open Studios. Keep an eye out for these on Facebook and our YouTube link from the Coastal Gallery web site – more will follow from the daily artist talks in addition to the video commission to Morten Watkins who will be filming the Private View on August 19th.

Hampshire Life / Hampshire Society

We are delighted to have been featured in the August issues of both Hampshire Life and Hampshire Society magazines – keep a look out for more features about our forthcoming exhibition at ArtSway in collaboration with Hampshire Open Studios. Ceramic Review has also featured the work of Arek Nowicki with his beautiful and querky pottery. Artist talks will be taking place daily at 11am in the education room at ArtSway during the exhibition running from 20th August – 29th August.

ArtSway / Hampshire Open Studios

We are busy finalising arrangements for the Coastal Gallery ‘Open at ArtSway’ exhibition during Hampshire Open Studios. Artists are busy putting finishing touches on new works which include MARTYN BREWSTER, CHRIS WHITTAKER, JASON MILLER , GEOFFREY ROBINSON, JULIE COLLINS, STEPHEN POWELL, AREK NOWICKI and JACQUI GIRON. A sculptural installation is being presented by TRUDI LLOYD-WILLIAMS and artists talks will be taking place each day at 11am. We will be updating this blog with more details on the run up to opening on 20th august. We hope you can come !
